With more than 25 years of experience, a2-Solar Advanced and Automotive Solar Systems GmbH provides an extensive expertise and innovative know-how in the field of Building-integrated Photovoltaics (BiPV) and automotive solar systems. Our team incubates innovative ideas in designing, developing and producing advanced special photovoltaic solar modules and systems. Cars, boats, trucks and trains belong to our core markets with flat, curved or spherically curved modules. Our “bubble modules” are showing outstanding vibration resistancy combined with very high structure stiffness. Our latest technologies allow for a variety of modules ranging from ultra-rigid façade modules to light-weight flexible modules or combined modules for thermal insulation and electricity generation.One of our solar vehicle roof developments has been incorporated into the roof of the silent, environment-friendly SunShuttle passenger trailer which is used already for public transport in Lüneburg and Münster. As of summer 2015, one of these passenger shuttles will be also driving through the Bisbinger Heide Center Parks.

For the American leader of commercial vehicle manufacturers, we have developed and produced the worldwide biggest and most powerful solar system. Measuring 2.5m x 1.3m in size with a curvature of more than 40cm, this system generates a power of 270W in a spherical curvature perfectly adapted to the truck’s roof curvature and allows for parking ventilation as well as battery charging.

In January 2015, we have been nominated to develop and produce a new solar roof module for the new Fisker KARMA which again will become the most powerful and most spherically curved solar car-roof module in existence.
