Smappee is not only the name of the company, but also of the product: The Smappee energy monitor provides consumers insights into their energy consumption and the production of their solar system by means of a smartphone and tablet app. Via intelligent measurements Smappee also recognizes individual electrical appliances and provides information about their power consumption and the resulting electricity costs per device. This ‘Itemized Bill’ feature also visualizes the costs by day or month and even forecasts how much each of the appliances will cost for an entire year. With Smappee consumers are able to identify the major and minor energy-guzzlers and reduce the energy consumption without losing comfort. With the use of Smappee Comfort-Plugs the consumer is able to control electronic devices from anywhere. Trigger options and an IFTTT channel let Smappee establish connections between devices and combine functions – for example chargers switch on automatically whenever the solar system is producing a lot of electricity.
